Spanish 2 (Period 6)

Course Description: This second year continues the focus on developing the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  It continues with basic grammar and vocabulary on a variety of new topics.   Students will be using and building on what they learned in their first year of Spanish.  Additionally, students will have an opportunity to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the Hispanic/Latino culture! 

Course Outline:  Lessons will cover content (vocabulary), communication( listening, speaking, reading and writing skills), culture(understanding of cultural differences and the ability to communicate respectfully), language structure (ability to communicate from single word responses to the forming of complete sentences and at more advanced levels, the ability to have extended discussions), and settings (appropriate language dependent on setting).  The target language will be taught based on the newly adopted state world language standards which can be found at http://clta.net/standards/standards.pdf
