October 16th is College Kick-Off and PSAT Testing

  • The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), is a prep version of the SAT exam.
  • If you earn a high score on the PSAT your junior year, you could qualify to receive a National Merit Scholarship! Testing your skills in reading, writing, and math, the PSAT is 2 hours and 45 minutes long. Unlike the SAT, the highest score possible on the PSAT is 1520.
  • All 9th, 10th and 11th graders will participate in the PSAT, free of charge.
  • This test will serve, not only as preparation for the SAT taken in senior year, but is also widely used as a major criterion for college admissions, and used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Competition!
