Dear High School Families!

Dear High School Students and Families: 

On behalf of the SJUSD Family, we thank you for your continued patience as we work to find creative and innovative solutions and strategies to support our students’ educational journey. We recognize this is an extremely uncertain time and the impact school closures are having on our students and families. We continue to receive guidance from local, state, and federal officials and pass that information on as soon as possible. We know we will get through this together.

Things are changing quickly, but here are a couple of updates: 

Distance Learning:

San Jacinto High School is committed to supporting the academic needs of our students during our closure due to COVID-19.   Our teachers have created Google Classrooms where they are able to share instructional lessons and suggested learning opportunities to support your students.  These resources are connected to their regular curriculum materials and aligned to California State Standards. Starting as early as today, April 6th teachers may be available through their Google Classroom to support learning.  We invite students to login to their Google Classroom through our Clever Portal to check for any information their teacher may have already shared.  You can find additional information through our school and district website about how to login to the Clever Portal or find additional learning opportunities.

Graduation/End of Year Activities:  

As previously announced, SJUSD will now be closed through June 19, 2020, as we continue to follow guidance from local, state, and federal officials regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. This closure unfortunately means that upcoming student events must be cancelled. This includes all athletic competitions, athletic practices, student performances, student award ceremonies, Prom, Grad Nite and the Graduation Ceremony scheduled for June 4. SJUSD staff is working to create a commencement celebration for the Class of 2020 at a later time when it is safe to do so. Student health and safety is our top priority and we will communicate any additional information as soon as possible. Information regarding refunds for Prom and Grad Nite sales will be made after April 13, 2020. 



There are many questions that you might have regarding graduation requirements, credits, and grades. We are continuing to work with the county, state, and federal officials to receive guidance. We will keep you updated as we gather more information. 

Counseling Information & Summer School Applications:  

Counselors are currently meeting with students over the phone for 2020-2021 course selections.  Students, please answer your phones even if a “Blocked Number” shows up on your phone ID.  

University 101 - Seniors, have you been accepted to a college or university?  Counselors will be sending out information on how to review your financial aid package and how to schedule an online appointment with your counselor.

Transcript Requests:

If you have a need for a transcript, please utilize Parchment, which is linked on the Order Transcripts link on the school website or follow this link: Parchment.


The College Board has cancelled makeup exams for the March 28 administration. The College Board has also cancelled the May 2 administration. Please contact the College Board for refunds. For Juniors, the school administration of the SAT scheduled for April 28 has been cancelled. 


ACT has rescheduled its April 4 national test date to June 13, across the United States. All students registered for the April 4 test date will receive an email from ACT informing them of the postponement and instructions for free rescheduling to June 13 or a future national test date.

 AP Exams: 

Traditional face-to-face exam administrations will not take place, instead, students will take exams at home, online. The AP Program is developing resources to help schools support student learning during extended closures. An exam schedule will be available on April 3. Portfolio deadlines have been extended to May 26. We are currently planning on how to support AP students, so please continue to check your school email for updates. 

IB Exams:

The May 2020 external examinations as scheduled between April 30 and May 22 for Diploma Programme candidates will no longer be held.  Depending on what they registered for, students will be awarded a Diploma or a Course Certificate which reflects their standard of work as determined by their Internal Assessments and teacher predicted grades.  

MSJC Dual Enrollment (taught at SJHS): 

At this time, no assignments will be required for face-to-face classes through April 30. As we approach April 30, we will provide you with an update. 

MSJC Concurrent Enrollment (taught at MSJC):

MSJC concurrent enrollment students should continue to monitor the MSJC website or emails for updates related to concurrent enrollment instruction.

Work Permits:  

If you need a work permit, please complete the following steps below: 

Step 1)  Click on the Work Permit Application (Fillable Form) or Click printable Work Permit Application form.  It will automatically create a copy for you. Then complete all required highlighted areas. Next, print out and take the Work Permit Application to your employer for signature. After getting the appropriate signatures (student, parent/guardian, and potential employer) you will need to upload the application into the survey below.

Step 2)  Complete the Survey and upload the completed Work Permit Application. A scan or photo of the permit may be uploaded. You must share/give permission to your uploaded Work Permit Application to SJHS to view. You will receive your completed work permit via email within 48 hours.
