SJHS Wins Awards at SoCal Fair

Three of our CTE electives would like to congratulate the San Jacinto High School participants for their successful display and competition at the SoCal Fair this week.

The SJHS Wood Tech program congratulates the eighteen students who have entered their projects into the SoCal Fair furniture competition. They did an excellent job with seventeen firsts and one second on a Danish judging system which evaluates five categories focusing on furniture and machine criteria. In addition, Jesus Andrade was recognized with the belt buckle design and craftsmanship award for his cherry wood bench. Julia Beeson received furniture’s best of show award. All projects are on display for the week in the Harrison Hall at the SoCal Fair, just across from the carnival activity area.

Twelve of our Culinary Arts students made up three teams of four students each and did a fruit and vegetable carving competition and display. The winning team was made up of

Christian Arredondo, Daniella Gutierrez, Vivat Smith, Glenn Lopez

Our third CTE elective representing SJHS was our Multimedia program with eight students sending their “Corporate Logo” designs. The top 4 students were Clayton Jones, Christian Love, Vicente Rubalcava, and Angel Taffolla, with Clayton Jones getting best of show within that group. Brianna Ruthruff, Pierce Cuda, Guadalupe Galaviz, and Cristian Gutierrez also produced award winning logos.
