Bio/About
Ms. Talamantez is thrilled to be a part of the Visual Arts Department at San Jacinto High School. As an alumna of San Jacinto High School, she has a deep connection to the school and community. She graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Studio Arts and a minor in Educational Studies. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Education to further enhance her teaching skills and provide the best educational experience to her students.
Ms. Talamantez has a strong personal interest in art, particularly in creating realistic portraits. She is passionate about capturing the essence and emotions of her subjects with meticulous detail and lifelike representation. She finds great joy in exploring various artistic mediums and techniques to bring her visions to life.

- Art I: This introductory course focuses on the basics of drawing and painting. Students learn fundamental techniques and principles of visual art, encouraging creativity and self-expression. The goal is to build a solid foundation in various mediums, including pencil, charcoal, colored pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, and more.
- Art II & III: Building on the skills developed in Art I, these advanced courses delve deeper into more complex techniques and materials. Students explore sophisticated concepts and develop their unique artistic styles. Emphasis is placed on refining skills, experimenting with mixed media, and understanding the historical context of various art movements. Additionally, students will develop a professional portfolio, write artist statements, and reflect on their artistic processes, preparing them for higher education or professional careers.
Art Club:
The Art Club at SJHS is open to all students, regardless of experience. It provides a joyful and relaxing environment for students to explore various art forms, collaborate on projects, and participate in art-related events and competitions. It’s a vibrant community where students can share their passion for art and support each other’s creative growth.
