AIR FORCE JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICE TRAINING CORPS (AFJROTC)

Advisors: Lt Col Howard, SM Sgt. Loar & SM Sgt R. DeMarti 

The mission of the Air Force Junior ROTC program is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.  We grow leaders by instilling a sense of responsibility, character, and self-discipline. The program promotes community service, education excellence, teamwork, fitness, and personal development for success. An underlying thread in ROTC is patriotism and pride in the institutions and values that make this country strong.  (Grades 9-12)

ART CLUB

Our high school art club is a vibrant and inclusive community for students who are passionate about creativity and self-expression. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, our club offers a supportive and inspiring environment for you to explore different mediums, techniques, and styles. ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER CLUB

Asian Pacific Islanders club is a welcoming space for students who identify as Asian, Pacific Islander, or allies to come together and celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions, and experiences within the Asian Pacific Islander community. Through cultural events, discussions, and activities, we aim to promote awareness, understanding, and unity among our members. Join us to connect with peers, share your heritage, and build a supportive community that embraces and uplifts the voices of Asian Pacific Islanders. ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY (ASB)

Advisor: A. Clark

The Associated Student Body (ASB) provides activities, serves as a training experience for student leaders, promotes equality for all students, gives students a share in the management of the school, develops high ideals of personal conduct, seeks to interest students in school affairs, and helps solve problems that may arise. SJHS ASB is dedicated to represent and give an equal voice to the entire student body. We are committed to providing the highest quality of activities! Members promote school spirit, positive attitude, and responsibility.

ATHLETICS

Athletic Director: A. Galliano

Participation in athletics at SJHS means more than competition between individuals or teams representing different high schools. It teaches fair play and sportsmanship, understanding and appreciation of teamwork. It teaches that to quit means failure, while to work hard means success. The legacy of an athletic program will be measured by more than just the wins and losses that our teams experience. Participation on an athletic team is a PRIVILEGE that is extended to every student who is eligible under regulations set up by the State of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), SJUSD, and San Jacinto High School. With every privilege goes responsibility.

ADVANCEMENT VIA INDIVIDUAL DETERMINATION

Advisor: Mrs. Gray

AVID club is about bringing opportunities to students who may be the first in their families to attend college and/or are from traditionally underrepresented groups in higher education.  The club is an extension of the 9-12 AVID classes on campus.  We offer community service opportunities and other fun activities designed to promote AVID as well as make students aware of the limitless opportunities that AVID provides to help students become college and career ready.  

BALLET FOLKLORICO

Advisor: A. Guzman

 

Ballet Folklorico club celebrates the rich and vibrant traditional dance and music of Latin America. Students who are passionate about Mexican, Hispanic, or Latin culture and folklore are invited to join us as we learn and perform traditional dances from various regions of Mexico. Through events, cultural workshops, and performances, members will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty and diversity of Ballet Folklorico. Join us to connect with others who share a love for Mexican heritage, music, and dance, and to showcase the artistry and grace of Ballet Folklorico. Viva la tradición!

 

 

TIGER PRIDE BAND

Advisor: P. Harris 

The Band ‘club’ is for students enrolled in the Marching Band at SJHS. This club plans events and fundraisers that all band students participate in. These fundraisers help pay for things such as equipment, uniforms, meals, and festivals among other things. Student leadership is built into a hierarchy, with Drum Majors, Section Leaders, Captains, and Section members. Students that wish to be in band should have a general knowledge of reading music, and should be able to play an instrument. Events include Competitions, Concerts, and supporting our Tiger Athletics at various sports. 

BLACK STUDENT UNION (BSU) 

Advisor: T. White

The Black Student Union (BSU) of San Jacinto High School is committed to intellectual, cultural, social and ethnic diversity. The BSU focus is to build  awareness, education, and a new level of consciousness about being an African American in today's society. We aim to teach others about diversity and show that through engaging in activities focused around acceptance and tolerance, we will get a better understanding of others while learning about ourselves.The BSU organization inclusively works to bring about positive racial relations on campus by promoting mutual respect for all cultures. The BSU provides panel discussions, distinguished lecturers, community service opportunities and campus-community interaction. The BSU also encourages SJHS students to strive for higher education and the organization helps to make the goal achievable by providing opportunities to earn academic, arts and service scholarships.

CHOIR CLUB

Advisor: Mr. Still

If you love to sing, this is the club to be in!  Popularized in recent years by the Pitch Perfect movies, singing a capella has been in style since the late 15th century AD!  And why not?  A 15 capella can be sung anywhere and with no props, since it is sung with no instrumental accompaniment. Open to all who enjoy singing.Club members vote on the songs we sing and perform.  You can expect to participate in about 3-4 performances throughout the school year. (Open to Advanced Choir Only)

CULINARY ARTS

Advisor: T. Hardy

The Culinary Arts club is designed to enhance students’ culinary skills. It entails intensive hands-on activities which provide opportunities for our students to explore culturally diverse cuisines, engage in food art and build on their basic food preparation skills. Together we are driven by our passion for food which is demonstrable through our hospitality services.

DISABILITIES AWARENESS CLUB

Advisors: D. Bernard, S. Ray & C. Bootsma

Our goal is to spread awareness of the disabilities that people have, while also encouraging diversity, friendship, and acceptance in a high school environment. The Disabilities Awareness Club (DAC) is a great environment to learn how to be a more understanding individual. We promote creativity, compassion, and cooperation. DRAMA - THESPIAN SOCIETY

Drama Club is designed for students interested in learning more about the aspects of theater. This includes learning stage terminology, working on acting skills, set building, and costumes/makeup design. Drama Club is open to all students.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION CLUB

Advisor: M. Solis

A student-led club, Ecomind is open to all students who care about keeping our school environmentally friendly. We complete many service projects to benefit our school and community.

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives…one heart at a time. Since 1954, FCA has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. FOUR DIRECTIONS NATIVE AMERICAN CLUB

Advisor: R. Burton

The club is a student-led organization that functions to support public awareness of Native American pride through the sharing of culture and heritage of First Peoples of the region and country. In addition, the group is an advocate for indigenous students/peoples' political, social, and welfare concerns. The club provides its members opportunity for camaraderie as well as public service.

FIGHTING INJUSTICE in SOCIETY TOGETHER

Advisor: R. Burton

F.I.S.T.  is a forum where discussion and learning occur regarding systemic racism and social injustice in our school, district, community, nation and world. In addition, we exist to join and initiate actions which actively target/fight systemic racism and social injustice in our school, district, community, nation and world. 

FUTURE FARMERS of AMERICA (FFA)

Advisor: J. Scott

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. It is an inter-curricular club that promotes agriculture through Career Development Events, community service activities, and chapter meetings.

GUITAR CLUB

Advisors: K. Still

 

Our high school Guitar club is the perfect place for students who share a passion for music and want to learn or improve their guitar skills. Whether you're a beginner looking to strum your first chords or an experienced player seeking to jam with fellow musicians, our club offers a supportive and creative environment for all levels. Join us for weekly jam sessions, workshops, and performances where you can showcase your talents and connect with other guitar enthusiasts. Let's make some beautiful music together and rock out with the high school Guitar club!

 

HEALTH OCCUPATIONS STUDENTS OF AMERICA

Advisor: M. Rodriguez

 

HOSA: Future Health Professionals provides opportunities for secondary students to plan and participate in educational experiences that prepare them for careers in the health care professions. Involvement in HOSA showcases the application of classroom knowledge and technical skill attainment while implementing communication skills, leadership development, and community service. Our club offers opportunities for students to be involved with the community, attend health profession conventions, internship with medical professionals, and some scholarships as well. All students are encouraged to join.

LINK CREW

Advisor: M. Aldana

As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success. Open to Linkcrew students only during their junior and senior years.

 

MOUNTAIN BIKE CLUB

Advisor: J. Norman

The San Jacinto Mountain Bike Team is a co-ed sport that participates in 5 races each season. The season starts December 1st and ends in the middle of May. Riders from high school and middle school have the opportunity to compete and achieve various personal goals.

 

MOVIMIENTO ESTUDIANTIL CHICANO AZTLAN (MECHA)

Advisor: F. Salcedo

The Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano Aztlan is an all inclusive club honoring all cultures and focusing on Hispanic/latino heritage! We serve to promote higher education, culture, and history among the Hispanic students of SJHS. We are also involved in community events and offer opportunities to be a voice in the Latino Advisory Committee.

 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Advisor: C. Thomas

NHS is a nationwide organization for high school students. The SJHS chapter of NHS strives to exemplify the four tenets of NHS: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service and character. We help with tutoring and so much more. We strive to seek opportunities to lighten the burden of those we meet. (grades: 10-12)

PE CLUB

Advisor: C. McClure

PE Club provides a new opportunity for students to get out and move outside of P.E. class. This club promotes teamwork, cooperation, and of course physical activity. Come join the fun!

SCHOLARSHIPS

Advisor: Mr. Perez, Mrs. Gurganus, and Mrs. Duenas

SPORTS MEDICINE

Advisor: K. Russell

The sports medicine club is designed for students who are enrolled in 7th period and would like to obtain hands-on internship hours with the student athletes under the supervision of the Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer on campus.  This student-run group contributes to the medical health of the competitive athletes on campus as well as work in networking opportunities with other students in both high school and collegiate programs. Students must be enrolled in 7th period in order to receive credit for participation.

STUDENTS OF FAITH - CHRISTIAN CLUB

Are you looking for a community of like-minded individuals who share your faith and values? Look no further than the Christian club at San Jacinto High School! Our club is a safe and welcoming space for students to come together to worship, pray, and grow in their faith. We provide opportunities for fellowship, Bible study, and service projects to help you deepen your relationship with God and make a positive impact on our school and community. Join us and be part of a supportive and uplifting community of believers!

 

TIGER MEDIA NETWORK - VIDEO PRODUCTIONS

Advisor: J. Murphy

The Tiger Media Network is an award-winning production program that creates content for the student-run media platforms and social media channels. It is a group entirely run by students who plan, create, develop and publish their own creations ranging from short films, to documentaries to even original music videos. The mission of the San Jacinto High School Yearbook Club is to capture and preserve the memories, experiences, and achievements of our school community in a creative and inclusive manner. We strive to produce a high-quality yearbook that reflects the diversity, spirit, and unity of our school, celebrating the unique stories and contributions of every individual. Our goal this coming year is to document SJHS in it's entity.

WELDING                    

Advisor: Z. Cain

The SJHS Welding Chapter is designed in aiding students in welding through information, equipment, opportunities, and connections.  The chapter promotes creativity, commitment, teamwork, and leadership through student participation.  Students will be able to be connected to the Welding industry, future career opportunities, participate in field trips, compete in competitions, and more.  Students will be a part of the welding community.
