Welding

Our Welding CTE pathway for San Jacinto High School students offers specialized training in the field of welding, metal fabrication, and joining technologies. Students learn about welding processes, safety procedures, blueprint reading, metallurgy, and welding codes and standards. They develop hands-on skills in welding techniques such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and oxy-fuel cutting. The program emphasizes precision, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Students have opportunities to work on welding projects, fabricate metal structures, and gain practical experience in welding workshops or labs. This pathway prepares students for careers as welders, metal fabricators, pipe fitters, and other skilled trades in industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive, and aerospace. Upon successful completion of the 2 year welding certification program, students will be prepared to begin their careers in the field as certified welding technicians.
